| Sexy, curvy, healthy is the plan! |
This is not going to turn into another weight loss blog and I have no intention of shoving diets or related products down your throat or lecturing you on your size or your health. Homey don't play that. This is about my own quest to get healthy after a dose of scary reality about my own personal risk of developing breast cancer based on my family history and the connection that my weight plays in this.
I haven't yet decided what approach/plan I will take and I am open to trying different things if anyone has any suggestions. I still believe in my tagline that I should be allowed to have my cake and eat it too, just maybe less of it from here on! What I do know is that I will be using the blog to help keep me accountable so that I follow through and I hope that those of you who do want to follow along will offer up support to keep me going. I love food and am under loads of stress so I'll need all the help and encouragement I can get!
I should warn y'all now that there will be heaps of cursing going on. I mean, I live in Canada and it's been anywhere from -11c to -29c lately-- not ideal walking/running weather and certainly not the kind of weather that inspires one to spring out of bed to hit the gym before the sun's come out. Potty mouth will prevail even in my honest attempt at keeping it clean. There's gonna be a whole lotta' bitchin' goin' on! To offer you a little incentive to stick around, I will also be posting embarrassing photos and even videos as I go along and when possible will also throw in some related giveaways along with those that I will continue to host on the main page of the site.
Wish me luck!
xx

Good for you for making the choice to get healthy. Your readers will support you and if they don't who cares as long as you get healthy and take care of yourself. I am trying to do the same and worry about my fatshion blog losing people because of my weight loss.
ReplyDeleteGood for you.i wish you luck with your Weight loss!i am a diet blogger. May be you'll come on over to the dark side and start a Diet blog instead of a RFashion blog.
ReplyDeletei already paid more than enough. still i got very small change.but off-course my violet got loss its weight...
ReplyDeleteI know you'll do great as long as you focus on your health and not just dieting to get skinny. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck losing weight and getting fit! I know what you mean about being afraid of your family history. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteYou should totally try Nurtisystem or Jenny Craig! Try becoming one of their bloggers. They keep getting these skinny bloggers to try their program for free instead of giving it to big girls that have weight to lose. It pisses me off! Especially that #NSNation program that I keep seeing on skinny girl blogs and blogs that don't have any relation to fat or diet or anything.
ReplyDeleteJolly - OMG! I have been trying to get into the Nutrisystem bloggers program but so far no luck! I have to agree with you about the skinny bloggers and the types of blogs they've been accepting. I hope they take me! Maybe you should write to them and recommend me! *winks*
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement ladies!
YOU GO GIRL!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how you do! Don't get bypass like all those other big girl bloggers tho! Ha!
ReplyDeleteIf u r doing it for ur health then good for u. I support dat!
ReplyDeleteI recommend Jenny Craig atleast to get started if you need help with portions. It worked well for me.
ReplyDeleteI also try to lose weight now and wish you luck.
ReplyDeleteI did Nutrisystem but its expensive. Good though.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna post on Twitter more often! LOL Thanks all! Keep the suggestions and well wishes coming :))Need all the help I can get!
ReplyDeleteTry weight watchers. I did it online but found I really needed the meetings to keep motivated.
ReplyDeleteHope everythings ok.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Happy for you!
ReplyDeleteDon't use diet pills or ephedrine for weight loss. It almost killed me. Do it healthy on your own or with like nutrasystem or jeny craig or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI wish you success! Xo
ReplyDeleteLots of diet tips online if you are planning to try to lose weight at home with no help.
ReplyDeleteI hope they accpet you for the Nurtisystem NS Nation blogger program. You would be so great at it and I'd rather follow you than some skinny mom blogger who blogs about coupons. Lols
ReplyDeleteRubeka - Did the diet pill/epdedrine thing when I was young and didn't know better and it was a nightmare. Not that stupid anymore, thankfully.
ReplyDeleteAlice - I know there are a lot of diet tips online as I am often paid to write similar content as a writer. I know it all but have a hard time following it. Need something a little more structured -- at least at first. I know myself well ;)
Silvia - I just emailed you back.
Lissy - Weight Watchers could be good but I wouldn't do it online. I'd need the motivation of meetings and a regular way in...though weighing in here with you all watching could definitely help keep me on track.
I second that! You'd be a great fellow #NSNation blogger! Hope you join us
ReplyDeleteOne of the coolest fatshion blog designs out there! Who did your design?
ReplyDeleteHope so too Kelly! What's your blog? Would love to check it out :)

ReplyDeleteWas so nice to meet you the other day. Glad I recognized you even with your darker hair. Your my inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou need to post more OOTD pics!
ReplyDeleteI am a curvy blogger too. We should swap links. Message me.
ReplyDeleteYour blog design is so cute! I love it! I guess it wasn't one of those free blogger templates?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your diet and getting healthy. Its awesome that your doing it.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Bernstein diet? They are in Canada.
ReplyDeleteDon't try Bernstein! Such a waste because if you want to starve yourself you can do that without paying the tons of money. EVERYONE I know who has done it including me has gained the weight back. Its unhealthy and you eat around 700 calories a day. It cant be good for you stay away from Bernstein diet!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your diet and getting healthy. Its awesome that your doing it.
ReplyDeleteCan I make a suggestion? I would really like to see more personal pictures and videos. I hope you'll include more of them as you go along in your journey to get healthy. It's inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYou need to write more stuff for Healthline.com. Your column on depression pretty much covered how I was feeling a lot of the time. I noticed you haven't written for them in a couple months and miss your stuff.
ReplyDeletehi. nice one.
ReplyDelete-Thanks Linda! Don't think they'll be bringing back the blog but I did recently write 3 articles for them...on men's health though.
ReplyDelete-Alira, I will start posting more pics of myself shortly though most will likely be under my diet section as I (hopefully) lose weight.
Lilly - I would never do Bernstein! Everyone who has been on it seems to gain it back and I would never pay someone that much to starve me.
Thanks to all for the encouragement! I really appreciate it! xo
